Box Office Hit Equals One Hot Date!

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Hello my movie-going Ladies!

If you don’t have a weak stomach and aren’t afraid to bust a gut laughing, I’d highly recommend the movie Tropic Thunder for your next date. A movie within a movie, this unique storyline pokes fun at Hollywood as the characters attempt to produce an epic Vietnam War film and inevitably everything that can go wrong, does. The real comedy begins once the actors are abandoned in the jungle in an attempt to achieve guerrilla-style filmmaking. Don’t worry, it’s not all blood and guts, Matthew McConaughey provides some very delicious eye-candy ;-)

There are some great performances too. Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, and Tom Cruise are just a few of the actors in this star-studded cast. And hats off to Mr. Ben Stiller who wore many hats in this production. Not only did he perform his pants off, he also wrote, produced, and directed the movie. Busy guy!

Tropic Thunder will keep you laughing start to finish, and will enable you to show your man that you are not a total girly girl afraid of an action-packed laugh riot. Trust me, suggesting this box office hit will mean hitting it off with your date! Show him you are a woman who knows how to have fun by saving the chick flick for ladies’ night, and enjoying a night of hilarity with your man instead!

A VERY SEXY MOVIE!

Hello there Ladies!

Now, I am never one to call women crazy or psychotic as I feel our passionate reaction to things is often misjudged by the opposite sex, but I have to call us out just this one time. I went and saw SEX AND THE CITY THE MOVIE opening night and let me just say, that was a craaaaaazy bunch of ladies in that theater! Myself included. Not only was every single showing sold out both online and in the movie theater, but the line for seating wrapped all the way around the lobby and into the street. Head to toe, women were dressed as their favorite lady of the famous foursome, and most of them were slightly intoxicated from the cosmos they had before arriving. Once the ticket taker gave all of us the go ahead to find a seat, women RAN, literally RAN, into the theater throwing purses and sweaters and elbows to claim a seat. I even saw one woman’s shoe come off as she was running. That was it for her. She nearly got trampled as she tried to put her shoe back on among the chaos.

But, I will say, as a true fan of the HBO series. I completely understand the craziness I saw that night. And the movie was excellent! The fashion was steller, the writing was just as witty as the series, the love scenes were hot, and the drama was intense. My only real complaint is that the previews and all the tabloid coverage gave way too much away. I knew many things about the plot going into the film. All those rumored “dream sequences”? Not a single one. I also wanted to see a cameo by Carrie’s past love interest Aidan, as many women will argue he was their favorite, but sadly only his name was mentioned. However, the story did a great job of catching us up on the lives of the four ladies over the past few years. I dont want to give too much away though in case you havent seen it, but I am certain you will laugh and cry several times. It wasn’t just the “Carrie and Big Show” either, each woman’s story was wonderfully developed. Overall, the movie did a great job of capturing the essence of the series yet still finding exciting new stories to tell. I highly recommend this movie and raise a cosmo in its honor!
